Recently, the Laser Medicine Branch of the Chinese Medical Association (CMA) successfully completed its leadership election, forming its 10th Committee. Professor Jin Chenjin from Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center at Sun Yat-sen University was elected Chairperson of the CMA Laser Medicine Branch. The immediate past Chairperson is Professor Ren Xilong from Tsinghua University Chuiyangliu Hospital, and the Chairperson-Elect is Academician Gu Ying from the Chinese PLA General Hospital.

Jin Chenjin is a Chief Physician and Professor at Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center, Sun Yat-sen University. He currently serves as the Chairperson of the Laser Medicine Branch of the Chinese Medical Association.

Professor Jin has long been dedicated to the clinical diagnosis, treatment, and research of fundus diseases, with profound expertise in treating conditions such as choroidal neovascularization through pharmacotherapy, laser therapy, and photodynamic therapy (PDT). Leading his team, he performs over 10,000 laser surgeries and intravitreal drug injections annually. He has made outstanding contributions to advancing fundus disease laser treatment toward minimally invasive, precise, and personalized approaches, with his technical proficiency ranking among the nation’s leading standards.

Over his 35-year career, Professor Jin has served patients with exceptional medical skill and high ethical standards, maintaining a record of zero medical disputes. Deeply trusted by his patients, he frequently receives letters of gratitude and commendatory banners. He has been honored as a "Yangcheng Top Physician." He has published more than 100 high-level research papers in domestic and international academic journals, and his research achievements were awarded the Second Prize of the Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award. Professor Jin’s academic contributions and social influence are widely recognized, earning him a place on the fifth "People's Outstanding Doctors · Exemplary Contributions" list, jointly released by People's Daily Health Client and Health Times.
