ZOC is the largest ophthalmic talent training base in China. Leveraging its disciplinary strengths and fostering interdisciplinary integration, the center cultivates visionary, responsible, and well-rounded ophthalmic leaders with excellence in both clinical skills and research capabilities, serving national strategies, public needs, and global eye health.

As China's first institution authorized to confer Doctoral/Master's degrees in Ophthalmology and a national-level Continuing Medical Education base, ZOC is the premier training ground, having produced over 2,900 Masters/PhDs and trained more than 6,000 visiting physicians, accounting for 1/5 of China's ophthalmologists.
