ZOC Optometry Service

ZOC Optometry Service is an enterprise jointly owned and managed by Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center of Sun Yat-sen University and its employees. Its primary business is providing professional optometry, glasses dispensing, and eye health services. Its predecessor was the Optometry and Glasses Dispensing Center of the Affiliated Eye Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, established in 1985. It was one of the earliest eye hospital-based optometry centers in China.

Leveraging the disciplinary and technical advantages of Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center, the ZOC Optometry Service adheres to the philosophy of serving society, prioritizing technology, and ensuring quality. After years of development, it now has over 300 employees, including more than 200 professional technical staff related to eye care and optometry. It has established 11 service branches located in Ouzhuang, Zhujiang New Town, Haizhu, Panyu, Panyu Wanbo, Huangpu, Xintang, Licheng, Dongguan, Huizhou, and Haikou. In 2023, the ZOC Optometry Service provided optometry services to over 700,000 patients. Responding actively to national strategies, it plays a significant role in implementing the children and adolescent myopia prevention and control program in Guangdong Province and Guangzhou, providing training, supervision and screening to enable the success of the program.
